Hey Reader,
NYE has become my favorite holiday over the last couple of years. And no, it's not because I go to some lavish party (hell, I don't even stay up past 10 pm).
It's because I give myself space to reflect, set intentions, do some self care, and spend quality time with my husband.
We make ourselves a nice dinner at home, look back at our previous year's goals, think and talk about what worked and what didn't, and set goals for the new year. Plus, we snuggle up and go through all our photos we took the past year. IT'S THE BEST.
And, because you're here to talk about travel - yes we use this time to plan a bit around the types of trips we want to take in the new year. It makes me giddy every year.
I usually open up my points and miles tracking sheet to help think about what credits and points we have available to use, and when we might need to book things by.
Knowing we have points and miles, plus travel credits, available every year makes trip planning even more exciting, because we're not shelling out tons of money from our bank accounts for travel.
Do you have any non-traditional 'traditions' you absolutely love for this time of year? I'd love to hear them.
Happy New Year, and talk soon,
Michelle
